Women's Soccer to Host PSAC Match Against Mercyhurst, Wednesday Afternoon

Johnstown, PA

The Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will play host to Mercyhurst for a PSAC Western Division match on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.

The Mountain Cats, under Coach Vito Addalli, are 1-4-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the PSAC after Saturday's 2-1 loss at Seton Hill.  Abby LaDuke scored her third goal of the week to give Pitt-Johnstown a lead, but the Griffins scored two unanswered goals, including one on a penalty kick in the 89th minute, to secure the win.  The Mountain Cats also got a pair of goals and an assist from LaDuke in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Clarion.

Coach Jon Arlet's (2nd year) Mercyhurst Lakers, 2-1-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the PSAC, got a goal from Alyssa Otto, but fell to Slippery Rock, 2-1 on Saturday.

In last year's meeting in Johnstown on September 23, Maya Fanazini scored in the 80th minute to lift Mercyhurst to a 1-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown.

The Mountain Cats host a PSAC match against Indiana (PA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to a PSAC match at California (PA) next Wednesday.
