
The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team opened its 2020 season with 10-7 and 13-10 wins over West Virginia Wesleyan College, Friday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, SC.  
Dylan Heid tossed four hitless innings in game one, and 
Dylan Broderick collected three hits and scored three runs in the nightcap.
 
In the opener, Heid held West Virginia Wesleyan hitless and struck out six over the first four innings to pick up the win.  
Ben Briggs pitched 2/3 of an inning to pick-up the save.
 
Owen McKeever and 
Lennox Pugh each went 3-for-5 with an RBI.  
Isaiah Kearns had two hits, including a solo homer, while 
Asher Corl and 
Tyler Smith collected two hits each and drove in a run for the Mountain Cats.
 

In game two, Broderick was 3-for-3 with three runs to help Pitt-Johnstown battle back from a four run fourth inning deficit.  Pugh had two hits and two RBI and Kearns added two more hits and an RBI.  Pitt-Johnstown also got three RBI from 
Josh Reynolds and two hits from 
Mario Disso.
 
Austin Hammerle earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning in relief of starter 
Braxton Roxby.  
Jake Ansell fanned five and held the Bobcats scoreless over the final two innings to get the save.
 
Pitt-Johnstown closes out its four-game series against West Virginia Wesleyan in Myrtle Beach with a pair games on Saturday, before traveling to Mooresville, NC for a four-game series against Fairmont State (WV) next weekend.
