Pitt-Johnstown Belts Four Home Runs in 8-5 Win Over American International

Clermont, Fla.

Stubblefield_JadeJade Stubblefield went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, four RBI, and three runs, and Kristie Radvan had three hits, including a homer and three RBI, in an 8-5 Pitt-Johnstown softball win over American International (MA) College, Wednesday afternoon in Florida.  The Mountain Cats belted four home runs to improve to 3-2.
 
First inning homers from Olivia Porter and Stubblefield gave Pitt-Johnstown an early 2-0 lead, before the Yellow Jackets loaded the bases in the bottom of the second off of Mountain Cat starter Kristen CoffayAlyssa Hileman came in in relief and surrendered a grand slam to Victoria Andrade.
 
American International added another run in the fourth to go up 5-2, but the Mountain Cats responded with three runs in the fifth.  Ali Belgiovane singled and scored on Radvan_KristieStubblefield's second home run of the day, and Radvan followed with a solo shot to tie it at five.
 
Pitt-Johnstown broke the tie with three more in the sixth.  Taylor Mendicino led off the inning with a walk and Lauren Gohacki singled.  After Porter reached on a fielder's choice, Stubblefield singled-home Laura Fox, who pinch-ran for Gohacki.  Radvan then came through with a base hit that chased home Porter and Stubblefield to set the final at 8-5.
 
Along with Stubblefield and Radvan, Belgiovane was 2-for-4 with a run, while Porter connected for a solo homer, and Mendicino doubled to lead Pitt-Johnstown.  Stacey Walling also added a hit for the Mountain Cats.
 
Hileman picked-up the win in relief of Coffay and improved to 2-1 after pitching the final 5 1/3 innings.
