Softball Drops 11-6 Decision to Hillsdale

Clermont, Fla.

Radvan_KristieKristie Radvan had two hits and an RBI, and Laura Fox drove in two runs, but Hillsdale (MI) College erased a three-run third inning deficit and went on to an 11-6 victory over Pitt-Johnstown in Thursday's second game in Florida.  The Mountain Cats are now 4-4.

Hillsdale jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second, but Pitt-Johnstown answered with five in its half of the second.  Stacey Walling doubled and was replaced by Maddie Flowers as a pinch-runner.  Bree Ginther reached on an error and Taylor Mendicino's base hit loaded the bases.  Lauren Gohacki followed with RBI single that scored Flowers, and Laura Fox singled home Ginther and Mendicino to put Pitt-Johnstown on top 3-2.  A walk to Olivia Porter forced Gohacki to third and she scored on a passed ball.  Porter stole second, Jade Stubblefield walked, and Radvan singled to plated Porter and make it 5-2.
