Johnstown, PA

Miller_Grace.jpgClarion visited the Sports Center on Saturday and dealt the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team a 25-18, 25-18, 25-14 PSAC Western loss.  Grace Miller had nine kills and Lualis Alvarado added seven kills for the Mountain Cats, now 11-6 overall and 4-4 in conference-play.

Pitt-Johnstown scored five of the first six points to open the match and got a kill from Alvarado to open-up at 13-8 lead.  Clarion came back to outscore the Mountain Cats 17-5 to take the set, 25-18.   A 9-1 Golden Eagle run, capped by a Cassidy Snider kill and a London Fuller service ace, gave Clarion 17-14 advantage, before a kill from Lauren Aichinger wrapped-up the set.

In the third set, two kills from Miller and one from Katelyn Courtney gave Pitt-Johnstown a narrow one-point advantage, before Clarion broke it open with a 10-1 run to make it 17-9 on Snider's kill.  The Golden Eagles went on to Alvarado_Lualis.jpgthe three-set sweep with the 25-14 win.
