Volleyball to Close Out Home Schedule With Senior Weekend against Edinboro and Gannon

The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will close out its 2021 home schedule and celebrate Senior Weekend with PSAC Western Division matches in the Sports Center against Edinboro on Friday at 7 p.m. and Gannon on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
Prior to Saturday's match against the Golden Knights, Coach Morgan Mammosser and the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball program will recognize this year's seniors… Erin Carmody, Shaelyn Foy, Lauren Gechter, Grace Miller, Rebecca Miller, and Cassie Pascarella.
 
Pitt-Johnstown is 12-7 overall record and a 5-5 in the PSAC West after splitting two matches last weekend.  Pitt-Johnstown swept Slippery Rock last Friday in the Sports Center behind nine kills each from Lualis Alvarado, Katelyn Courtney, and Grace Miller, before suffering a four-set loss at Mercyhurst on Saturday.  Miller had a match-high 18 kills for the Mountain Cats.
 
Edinboro, 17-3 overall and 9-1 in the PSAC West under 17th-year Coach Missy Soboleski, hs won five straight matches, including a 3-0 sweep over Clarion on Friday and a 3-1 win at California (PA) on Saturday.  Natalie Pallone had 10 kills against Clarion, and Bella Burrelli collected 16 kills against the Vulcans.
 
The Fighting Scots snapped a four-match losing streak to Pitt-Johnstown with a five-set win in Edinboro on Oct. 2.  Gechter (17), Cassie Pascarella (14), and Miller (11) led Pitt-Johnstown, while Burrelli had 18 kills and Abby Monn had 12 kills for Edinboro.
 
Gannon, had won six straight matches and was 21-4 overall and 8-2 in the PSAC West before Friday's match at Clarion.  The Golden Knights got 13 kills from Ashley McClung in last Saturday's sweep over Seton Hill.
 
On Oct. 1, Gannon dealt Pitt-Johnstown a three-set loss in Erie.  Grace Miller's 10 kills led the Mountain Cats, while Lauren Sampson's 13 kills paced three Golden Knights with double-digit kills.
 
Pitt-Johnstown will close out the regular season with four straight road matches beginning at Seton Hill on Friday and at California (PA) next Saturday.
