The Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double-overtime draw with host Seton Hill University Saturday afternoon in its final match of the regular season.
The two teams played 109 minutes of scoreless soccer, including 89 minutes of regulation and 20 minutes of overtime.
All the scoring came within a 19-second time frame at the 40-minute mark of the opening half on Senior Day at Dick's Sporting Goods Field in Greensburg.
.Just 19 seconds after Seton Hill's Jakob Sabatula scored his first goal of the season, an unassisted tally against goalkeeper PJ Derksen to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead, Chase Kuhn countered with his second goal of the year on a penalty kick for the Mountain Cats to deadlock the match at 1-1. He beat Seton Hill goalkeeper Bobby White on the shot.
Coach Eric Kinsey's Mountain Cats finished 0-8-2 in the PSAC West and 1-12-3 overall. The Griffins, who previously clinched a berth in the PSAC Tournament, dropped to 6-3-1 in the PSAC West and 9-7-2 overall.
Derksen faced 28 shots in net, made six saves and allowed one goal in 110 minutes of action. Nicolas Lancaster faced eight shots and made one save in 65 minutes for the Griffins, while White faced eight shots, made two saves and allowed one goal in 45 minutes.
