
The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team made it four straight wins with a 25-21, 25-22, 25-16 sweep over Saint Anselm (NH) College to open Saturday's action at the 2021 East Stroudsburg University Invitational. The Mountain Cats, who got a match-high 13 kills from
Lauren Gechter and 11 kills from
Lualis Alvarado, improved to 4-1.
Gechter finished with 13 kills and a .632 hitting percentage, while Alvarado added 11 kills and six digs to pace Pitt-Johnstown.
Grace Miller had nine kills and two blocks, and
Cassie Pascarella had eight kills and three digs.
Adiamar Beaz led both teams with a match-high 40 set assists to go along with 10 digs and a pair of service aces, and
Erin Carmody chipped-in a match-high 19 digs and three assists.
The Mountain Cats also got eight digs from
Lexi Pendergraft and two blocks from
Katelyn Courtney.
Saint Anselm, which fell to 5-2, was led by Lauren Casey's 12 kills and Aubrey Simmons' 11 kills.
