
Shepherd (WV) University made a goal with five minutes remaining in the first half hold up in a 1-0 non-conference victory over the Mountain Cat men's soccer team, Sunday afternoon in Shepherdstown, W.Va. Pitt-Johnstown, which got nine saves from
Sage Parsley, slipped to 1-3-0 on the season.
The Rams notched the lone goal of the match in the 40
th minute when Brandon Hurt was able to beat Parsley to the top right corner of the net.
Shepherd's Billy wood earned the shutout in net after facing five Pitt-Johnstown shots and making one save.
Parsley saw 16 shots from the Rams, made nine saves, and allowed one goal.
With the win, the Rams improved to 1-2-0.
The Mountain Cats will make their 2021 home debut with a non-conference match against D'Youville (NY) on Tuesday, September 21 at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before opening PSAC-West play with a home match against California (PA) on Saturday, September 25 at noon.
