Women's Soccer Holds off Seton Hill to Get the Home Victory

Johnstown, PA

The Mountain Cat Women's Soccer Team jumped out to an early lead against conference opponent Seton Hill at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field and never looked back. Lydia Roman netted two goals as Haley Neidig, Mia Dirienzo, and Bryanna McBeth each added one to give the Mountain Cats the 5-2 victory over the Seton Hill Griffins. With the win, the team moves to 2-4 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC Western Division.
 
Neidig scored in the opening minutes of the game to give her team the 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Morgan Kost. Dirienzo followed up with a goal in the 13th minute of the contest of an Emily Esser assist. In the 32nd minute the Griffins cut the lead in half with a Kathryn Penman goal off of a Madisyn Ramacciotti pass. To close out he first half, McBeth slotted a ball passed the Seton Hill goalkeeper off a Mary Reese free-kick.
 
In the 65th minute the Mountain Cat's found the back of the net again when Roman scored her first of two. This goal was assisted by Morgan Kost, her second of the game. Roman ended the scoring onslaught for Pitt-Johnstown when she finished off another goal, this time off of a Katelyn Rudy pass.

The last goal of the game was score in the 78th by Seton Hill's Alianna Resch and assisted by Mikayla Moyer.
 
The Mountain Cats outshot the Griffins 16 to 13. Both teams had a goalkeeper change at halftime. For Pitt-Johsntown Megan Giesey got the start and made four saves on the six shots she faced. Giesey allowed one goal. The Mountain Cat's second goalkeeper on the day Alayna Burgamy made three saves on the seven shots she faced and allowed one goal.
 
For Seton Hill, Grace Kenyon got the start and saved two of the ten shots she faced and allowed one goal. Lindsey Pazdzioroko subbed on at the half. She faced six shots, made thee saves, and allowed two goals.
 
With the loss, Seton Hill is now 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC West.
 
Pitt-Johnstown plays a conference match at Mercyhurst University on Wednesday at 7:00 PM, before traveling to PSAC match at Indiana (PA) on Saturday at 1:30 PM.
