California (PA) built a 3-0 halftime lead on its way to a 5-0 victory over the Mountain Cat men's soccer team in Saturday's PSAC Western Division opener at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. Pitt-Johnstown fell to 1-4-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the PSAC West.

Ten minutes later, Chance Pursifull's penalty kick made it 2-0, before the Vulcans took a 3-0 halftime advantage when Jake Nebinski set up DeVar Anderson's goal in the 39
th minute.
It remained that way until the 63
rd minute when Chris Garcia finished Nebinski's second assist of the day to the bottom right corner of the net to increase it to 4-0.
California (PA) added one more goal in the 88
th minute to set the final at 3-0.
Parsley made five saves in goal for the Mountain Cats, while Trevor Zabilowicz earned the shutout in goal for the Vulcans after making a pair of saves.
The Mountain Cats will host a non-conference match against Lock Haven on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, then travel to Mercyhurst for a PSAC match on Saturday.
