Lydia Roman, and
Haley Neidig all scored goals in a nine-minute of the first half to lead the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team to a 3-1, non-conference victory over Mansfield University in Sunday's 2021 home-opener at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats evened their record at 1-1-0.
Esser opened the scoring in the 32
nd minute off of an assist from
Maura Carey, before Neidig set up Roman's goal three minutes later to give Pitt-Johnstown a 2-0 advantage.

The Mountain Cats increased the lead to 3-0 in the 41
st minute when Neidig scored a goal of her own that found the back of the net behind Mansfield goalkeeper Stephanie Moir off of Carey's second assist.
Pitt-Johnstown held that three goal lead until the 83
rd minute when Emily Smith finished Kerrah Clymer's assist that got Mansfield on the scoreboard and set the final at 3-1.

The Mountain Cats, who outshot the Mounties, 19-4, used a pair of goalkeepers.
Sachi Negri got the start and played the first 66 minutes and didn't have to make a save, while
Megan Giesey played the final 24 minutes, made one save and allowed one goal.
Moir made six saves and surrendered three goals in net for Mansfield
With the loss, Mansfield is now 0-1-0.
Pitt-Johnstown PSAC-West play with a home match against Gannon on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before traveling to Slippery Rock for another conference match on Saturday at noon.
