Lauren Gechter finished with a match-high 11 kills, and
Grace Miller added nine kills and a pair of blocks, but the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team suffered a straight-set loss to the hosts at the West Liberty (WV) University Tri-Match, in Tuesday's season-opener in West Liberty, W.Va.

The Hilltoppers took the opening set 25-23, before completing the sweep with 25-21 and 25-16 victories.

Along with Gechter and Miller, the Mountain Cats also got eight kills and 13 digs from
Lualis Alvarado and five kills from
Cassie Pascarella.

Adiamar Beaz led the way for Pitt-Johnstown with 15 set assists and 14 digs, while
Abi Leitner added 14 assists.

Pitt-Johnstown also got five assists and 12 digs from
Erin Carmody.

Katlelyn Fritz's eight kills and seven digs, and MacKenzie Daub's six kills and three blocks paced West Liberty, which improved to 3-2.
