The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will break away from PSAC West-play with a non-conference match against Point Park University, Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Sports Center.
Pitt-Johnstown, under
Interim Head Coach Justin Haupt, comes in at 7-16 following a five-set PSAC West loss at California (PA) last Tuesday and a 3-1 conference setback to Gannon in the Sports Center on Saturday.
Lualis Alvarado collected a career-high 23 kills and
Natalie Lippincott added 10 gills against the Golden Knights.
Fifth-year
Head Coach Bridget Bielich's Point Park Pioneers have won seven straight matches and are 16-4 overall on the season. The Pioneers swept Ohio Christian on Saturday behind
Stephani Rivera-Pac's match-high 19 kills and
Madison Sima's eight kills.
Pitt-Johnstown and Point Park met at the Seton Hill Tournament on Sept. 9 and the Mountain Cats came away with a four-set victory.
Abi Leitner and
Alvarado had 14 and 13 kills, respectively for the Mountain Cats, while
Rivera-Pac had 14 kills and
Melissa Schroeder added nine kill to lead the Pioneers.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC West matches at Slippery Rock on Friday and Seton Hill next Saturday, before hosting a conference match against Clarion next Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the Sports Center.
