Women's Soccer Falls to Gannon in Regular Season Finale

Kost_Morgan.jpgMorgan Kost got the Mountain Cats on the board in the 87th minute, but Gannon went on to secure a 4-1 PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team during Saturday's regular season finale. With the loss, the Mountain Cats finished the 2022 regular season 4-10-4 overall and 4-9-3 in conference play.

Gannon struck first when Jamie Seneca scored in the low center of the net in the eighth minute. Ella Fadale would add another score to make it 2-0 at the half, and Holly Gray would secure the victory for the Golden Knights with a pair of goals in the 80th and 87th minutes.

Kost scored in the low center of the net 21 seconds after Gray's second goal to get the Mountain Cats on the scoreboard and set the final score at 4-1.

Sachi Negri and Megan Giesey both saw time in the net for the Mountain Cats. Negri played the first 11 minutes and recorded a save, while Giesey played the remainder of the game and made 10 saves. The pair faced 25 combined shots from Gannon.

With the win, Gannon will finish the regular season in first place of the PSAC Western Division, with a 12-2-4 overall record and a 11-1-4 record in conference play.
