California (PA) got off to a fast start and took a 1-0 lead seven minutes into the match when Juliana Cruz finished a loose ball in front of the net, before Kaylee Elwood's penalty kick 14 minutes later gave the Vulcans a 2-0 advantage at the half.

Pitt-Johnstown travels to Mercyhurst on Saturday for a PSAC West match, before returning home to host Slippery Rock on Saturday as part of a conference doubleheader with the Mountain Cat men's team. The women will kick off at noon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, with the men's game scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
