
After Monday's game at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. was postponed, the Pitt-Johnstown men's basketball team found itself in an extremely rare situation. The Mountain Cats would be forced to play a pair of games on Tuesday, the rescheduled match-up against Lynn and the previously scheduled game at fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern
In the opener against the Fighting Knights,
John Paul Kromka poured in a game-high 25 points on 10-11 shooting and had game-highs of five blocks and five assists to guide Pitt-Johnstown to a 69-62 victory.
The Mountain Cats, who led wire-to-wire, opened up a 14-point lead eight minutes into the game on a Kromka bucket, and took a 39-29 advantage into halftime on their way to the seven-point victory.
Pitt-Johnstown also got 11 points and five rebounds from
Ryan Smith and 11 points and three rebounds from
Andy Zuchelli off the bench.
Jared Jakubick tallied nine points, while
Joe Batt chipped-in five points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Pitt-Johnstown shot 52.1% (25-48) and 14-17 from the charity stripe, while limiting Lynn to just 31.3% shooting (22-56).
Jimel Lane's 21 points and eight boards and Nordin Kapic's seven points and nine rebounds led the way for the Fighting Knights, now 1-2 on the year.
