Pitt-Johnstown opened its 2022-23 season with an exhibition contest against a Power Five opponent in Virginia. The Cavaliers climbed out to an early lead and went on to a 92-45 victory over the Mountain Cats on Thursday night.
Senior Ashley Norling scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Mountain Cats. Junior Olivia Fasick provided a team-high six rebounds and four assists. Peyton Alazaus and Makayln Clapper added seven points apiece.
Virginia received a game-high 22 points and 10 boards from Camryn Taylor.
The Mountain Cats officially kick off their season when they travel to face Frostburg State (MD) next Friday night at 7 p.m. in the 2022 Frostburg State University Jim Crawley Conference Challenge. Pitt-Johnstown's home opener in the Sports Center is slated for Nov. 22 at 5:30 p.m. against Salem (WV) University.
