Jacob Ealy Ranked No.1 at 149 lbs., Nate Smith No. 2 at 157 lbs. in Latest NWCA National Rankings

00Jacob Ealy climbed into the top spot at 149 lbs. in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division II Rankings released on Friday, while Nate Smith jumped from fourth to second at 157 lbs.to lead a group of six Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers who are individually-ranked.  As a team, the Mountain Cats moved from 11th to sixth in the rankings.

St. Cloud State (Minn.) (82 points) moved from second to first over Nebraska-Kearney (72 points) in the team rankings.  Central Oklahoma (60 points) is third, and Indianapolis and Lander (SC) (54 points) are tied for fourth.  Pitt-Johnstown is sixth with 51 points.

Ealy, a perfect 6-0 overall and 2-0 in dual meets with three wins by technical fall, took over the No. 1 ranking at 149 lbs. after being ranked second in the preseason NWCA Poll.

Smith, ranked fourth in the preseason poll at 157 lbs., moved up to spots after starting his season at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in dual meets.

In addition, Isaiah Vance (285 lbs.) is seventh, Caleb Morris (141 lbs.) is ranked ninth, and Dillon Keane (165 lbs.) and Brock Biddle (184 lbs.) are both ranked 11th for the Mountain Cats.
