Mario Disso and
Josh Ulery each had two hits for the Mountain Cats, but Charleston (WV) broke open a one-run game with three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to secure an 8-4 victory over Pitt-Johnstown, Sunday afternoon in Charleston, W.Va. The Mountain Cats are now 2-3-1.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 lead after four innings, before Pitt-Johnstown responded with three runs of its own in the top of the fifth.
Dylan Broderick doubled home

Lennox Pugh's sacrifice fly plated Ulery, and Broderick scored on a Charleston throwing error to tie it at three.
Charleston scored two in its half of the fifth, but the Mountain Cats got one of those runs back in the sixth on Ulery's RBI single. However, the Golden Eagles added three insurance runs in the eight to set the final at 8-4.

Ulery went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Disso had two hits, and Broderick doubled for Pitt-Johnstown.
Austin Hammerle started and went the first 2/3 of an inning, and seven other Mountain Cats made an appearance.
With the win, Charleston won two of the three games in the series and improved to 5-7.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to Cincinnati, OH to play a four-game non-conference series against West Liberty (WV) on Saturday and Sunday. Pitt-Johnstown is scheduled to make its 2022 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Salem (WV) on March 19 at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
