
After suffering a 3-1 loss to open a three-game non-conference series at the University of Charleston (WV) on Saturday, Pitt-Johnstown got seven shutout innings from Tyler Squiric and a home run and three RBI from
Justin Turcovski in the nightcap to split the doubleheader with a 4-0 victory. The Mountain Cats are now 2-2-1.

Dylan Broderick's RBI single plated
Jake Ansell to knot it at one in the top of the sixth, but the Golden Eagles scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth and went on to the 3-1 win.
Broderick singled and drove in a run, Ansell doubled, and
Garrett Prosper and
Chase Vargo each had base hits for the Mountain Cats.
Rodney Shultz took the loss after allowing three runs (1 earned) on four hits over the first 5.1 innings. Shultz struck out two and walked four.
In game two, Pitt-Johnstown scored a pair of runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth on its way to the 4-0 win.

Turcovski's first career home run, a two-run blast in the third, put the Mountain Cats on top.

Josh Reynolds singled home
Lennox Pugh, and Turcovski followed with an RBI single that chased home to make it 4-0.
Turcovski went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBI,a nd Broderick doubled for Pitt-Johnstown.
Tyler Squiric picked up the win after holding Charleston scoreless on just three hits over the first seven innings. He fanned seven and walked two.
Ben Briggs pitched two scoreless innings and struck out two to close out the victory.
Pitt-Johnstown wraps-up the three-game series at Charleston with a nine-inning game on Sunday, before traveling to Cincinnati, OH to play a four-game non-conference series against West Liberty (WV) next weekend. Pitt-Johnstown is scheduled to make its 2022 home debut with a non-conference doubleheader against Salem (WV) on March 19 at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
