Johnstown, PA

Johnson_Alexis.JPGLock Haven made a first half goal stand-up in a 1-0 non-conference victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team in Sunday's Mountain Cat home-opener at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.

Josey Francis finished an assist from Leana Cuzzocrea in the sixth minute to give the Bald Eagles the early advantage.

Pitt-Johnstown, now 0-1-1 on the year, had several opportunities to knot it, including Alexis Johnson's shot late in regulation that was saved by diving Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller, but the Mountain Cats were unable to get the equalizer.

Negri_Sachi.JPGSachi Negri saw 14 shots from the Bald Eagles and made seven saves for Pitt-Johnstown, but surrendered the match's lone goal, while Miller earned the shutout for Lock Haven after facing 11 shots and making five saves.

With the victory, the Bald Eagles improved to 2-0-0.
