
Shepherd (WV) University used a goal just over 14 minutes into the second half to down the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team, 1-0, in Wednesday's Mountain Cat season-opener at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.

th minute gave the Rams the lead and Shepherd made it stand up in the 1-0 win.

PJ Derksen faced 16 Shepherd shots, allowed just one goal, and was forced to make four saves, while Billy Wood earned the shutout in goal for the Rams after seeing 11 Pitt-Johnstown shots and making a pair of saves.
With the victory, Shepherd evened its season record at 1-1-1.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to D'Youville (NY) for a non-conference match on Labor Day, before returning home to host Washington Adventist (MD) in a non-conference match on September 9 at 3 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
