Natalie Lippincott led the Mountain Cats with ten kills while
Lualis Alvarado chipped in nine of own. However, their combined effort was not enough to rally from two sets down to Northwood University in the 2022 Wayne State (MI) University Warrior Invitational. This game marks Pitt-Johnstown's second loss of the tournament. The Mountain Cats are now 1-4-0 this season.

Northwood won the first set 13-25 and then followed that win up with a 14-25 victory over the Mountain Cats. Pitt-Johnstown were able to claw back a 30-28Â win in the third set. Alvarado also added nine digs in the match.
Lexi Pendergraft led UPJ with 16 digs.
Adiamar Beaz helped out in a variety of areas with 18 assists, 10 digs, one kill, and one ace.
Isabella Gomez had 14 assists in this match.Â

Northwood who now move to 4-2-0 on the season were led by Caitlin Warnshuis with 15 kills, Renee Brines with 41 assists, Grace Rekeweg with four aces, and Megan Acs with 21 digs.Â

The University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown Mountain Cats will play their next match tomorrow, September 3rd, at 9:00 AM against Ursuline (OH) College. This will be their third and penultimate game of the Wayne State (MI) University Warrior Invitational. The Mountain Cats will conclude this invitational with a match against Wayne State (MI) at 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 3rd. Pitt-Johnstown will continue with non-conference play at West Liberty (WV) University on September 6th and with the 2022 Seton Hill University Tournament on September 9th and 10th before hosting their 2022 home-opener against Salem (WV) University on Tuesday, September 13th at 6:00 PM.Â
