Megan Dietz's second-half goal put the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team on the board, but a pair of second half goals by Seton Hill proved to be enough to take down the Mountain Cats, 3-1, in a PSAC Western Division match on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 3-4-2 overall on the year and 3-3-1 in conference play.
Seton Hill's Madison Carr opened up scoring in the 13th minute, giving the Griffins a 1-0 halftime lead. Emma Rain and Corynna Rotoli would each score early in the second half to expand Seton Hill's advantage to 3-0.
Dietz's goal in the 66th minute, with an assist from Emily Esser, helped cut the deficit to two, but neither team would score again to set the final score at 3-1.
Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Sachi Negri faced 26 shots on the day, making 12 saves and allowing three goals. Grace Kenyon, goalkeeper for the Griffins, faced seven shots and made four saves while allowing one goal.
Seton Hill improved to 5-1-3 overall and 3-1-3Â in conference play with the win.
The Mountain Cats will return home to host Gannon University in a PSAC Western Division matchup on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
