Haley Neidig's eighth goal of the season cut a 2-0 Seton Hill first half lead in half, but the Griffins added a pair of goals in the second half to secure a 4-1, PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, Saturday afternoon in Greensburg. Pitt-Johnstown is now 2-9-4 overall and 2-8-3 in the PSAC West.
Victoria Rothrauff and Emma Rain each scored goals in the first 14 minutes to put the Griffins on top, 2-0, before Neidig finished an assist from
Katelyn Rudy :28 later to get the Mountain Cats back to within a goal.
However, Seton Hill made it 3-1 in the 59
th minute on a Jessica Molitoris goal, and Kilee Coatney added an insurance goal with 28 minutes remaining to set the final at 4-1.
Megan Giesey played the first half in goal for the Mountain Cats and allowed a pair of goals, and
Parker Grimm was in net for the final 45 minutes. Grimm also allowed two goals and made two saves.
Seton Hill, which improved to 5-8-1 overall and 4-7-1 in the PSAC West, got three saves from Lauren Pazdziorko.
The Mountain Cats visit California (PA) for a PSAC match on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Edinboro on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
