The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf team finished with a team score of 943 (+79) to place sixth in the 10-team field at the 2023 PSAC Golf Championships at Iron Valley Golf Club.
After a 311 in the first round, the Mountain Cats ended the second day of the championships tied for third along with Gannon after firing a 309 in the second round. The five-player lineup concluded the fall season with a 323. Mauricio Hernandez set the pace individually by tying for 14th place with a 234.
Ethan Webb claimed sole possession of 16th after an 81 in the final round to finish with a 236. Eli Ropietski was right behind after firing a 238 and tying for 18th place. Justin Scally improved six strokes on his second round finish, tallying a 79 to tie for 25th in the 50-player field. Mario Battaglia rounded out the lineup by finishing 40th with a 248.
Millersville took home the team title by finishing with a 903, 14 strokes better than runner-up finisher Indiana (PA). Timothy Peters of Millersville won the individual title with a 3-over par 219, two strokes better than his teammate Bobby Lugiano.
The Mountain Cats will resume play in the spring semester.
