Pitt-Johnstown held a brief advantage in each half, but couldn't quite close the deal and settled for a 2-2 draw against Clarion in a PSAC West matchup on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite outshooting the Golden Eagles 7-4 over the final 45 minutes, the Mountain Cats tied for the third time this season and now sit at 1-6-3 (1-5-2 PSAC).
Goalkeeper Megan Giesey faced 15 shots and notched six saves in all 90 minutes.
After neither team gained much traction for the majority of the second half, Lydia Roman broke a 1-1 tie in the 82nd minute by taking a pass from Haley Neidig and depositing it in the lower right corner of the net past Clarion goalie Alex Velez.
Neidig registered a team-best four shots, one being on goal.
It took Clarion less than four minutes to answer when Jaci Bowser scored off an assist from Alayna Wicker.
A similar situation occurred in the first half when Pitt-Johnstown's MacKenzie Stephens recorded her first goal of the season on an assist from Abby Jackson to make it 1-0 in the 11th minute. But Clarion registered the equalizer in the 13th minute on a tally by Ciara DiMauro.
Wicker finished with two assists for the Golden Eagles, who are 2-5-3 overall. Velez made three saves.
