After suffering a lopsided setback the first time around, Pitt-Johnstown made life far more difficult on Gannon when the two teams met for the second time.
The Mountain Cats held the Golden Knights scoreless for 73 minutes before Gannon rallied for three goals in a six-minute span late in the second half to secure a 3-0 win on Saturday evening at McConnell Family Stadium.
Pitt-Johnstown slipped to 1-7-3 (1-6-2 PSAC). Gannon won for the sixth straight time to up its record to 8-2-1 (8-1 PSAC).
Brooklyn Respecki broke up a scoreless game with her eighth goal of the year in the 74th minute after receiving a pass from Grace Emanuel and beating Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Megan Giesey.
Just 23 seconds passed before the Golden Knights scored again. Jamie Seneca received a pass from Madeline Endler and placed a shot in the high right corner of the net for a 2-0 advantage.
Emanuel capped the scoring with an unassisted tally in the 79th minute.
Giesey had seven saves for the Mountain Cats. Lydia Roman and Sophia Lamesta each posted a shot on goal.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
