Head Coach Mike Drahos' Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball team, seeded fifth in the Western Conference, dealt fourth-seed Indiana (PA) a 68-66 loss in the first round and will make its second consecutive trip to the PSAC Women's Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals. The Mountain Cats will travel to top-seeded for Gannon for a 5:30 tip-off on Wednesday.

Wednesday's winner advances to the PSAC Semifinals at the highest remaining seed in the Western Division.
The top six teams from both the Eastern and Western divisions earned an opportunity to compete in PSAC Women's Basketball Championship. The top two teams from each division earned a first-round bye. The highest remaining seed from the PSAC's Western Division will host the semifinals and finals. The tournament winner claims an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament.
Peyton Alazaus poured in a team-high 21 points, while
Ashley Norling had 19 points and seven rebounds, and
Olivia Fasick chipped-in 13 points in Monday's opening round road win at IUP.
Norling (14.6 ppg.), Alazaus (14.6 ppg.), Fasick (11.3 ppg.) and
Hayden Taylor (9.3 ppg.) lead the Mountain Cats in scoring, while Norling's 7.9 rebounds per game pace Pitt-Johnstown. Fasick (5.1 apg) and Norling (3.7) lead Pitt-Johnstown in assists.
Gannon, ranked 11
th in the D2SIDA National Poll and 15
th in the WBCA Coaches Poll, have won nine straight games and are 27-3 on the season. The Golden Knights closed out the regular season with an 82-68 home win over Mercyhurst on Saturday.
Samantha Pirosko's game-high 20 points led seven Gannon players who scored eight or more points.
Pirosko's 19.8 points and 7.2 rebounds and
Emma Wright's 14.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game lead Gannon.
Pitt-Johnstown and Gannon met twice during the regular season and the Golden Knights came out on top both times. On Jan. 7 in the Sports Center, Pirosko's 17 points and 11 boards held the Gannon to a 67-48 victory. Alazaus scored a game-high 18 points for the Mountain Cats. The Golden Knights then earned an 83-66 win in Erie on Feb. 6 behind Pirosko's 22 points and Wright's 17 points and 10 rebounds. Norling (18 points),
Makalyn Clapper (15 points), and Taylor (10 points) all scored in double figures for Pitt-Johnstown.
