

Grand Valley State (MI) got off to a fast start and came a way with a 15-5, five-inning victory over the Pitt-Johnstown softball team, Saturday morning at the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla.
 
Grand Valley jumped out to a 7-0 lead after one inning, then added six more in the third.
 
Pitt-Johnstown tried to get back in it and scored four runs in its half of the fourth.  
Brynnae Coe's double to center allowed 
Sydney Mitchell and 
Tori Radvan to score to get the Mountain Cats on the board, before 
Emilia Santiago followed with a double of her own that scored 
Hannah Gnibus and Coe.
 
Jenna Tallman's single to left in the Pitt-Johnstown fifth chased home 
Kelsi Terzolino to set the final at 15-5.
 
Santiago went 2-for2- with a double and two RBI, and Coe collected a two-run double for the Mountain Cats.  Pitt-Johnstown also got a double from 
Kayla Miehl, a hit and an RBI from Tallman, and a hit and a run scored from Radvan.  
Julia Mooney and 
Laura Fox had one hit apiece.
 
Alexis Hrivnak suffered the loss after allowing seven runs in the opening inning.
