

The Pitt-Johnstown women's track and field day battled through a rainy Friday and windy Saturday to finish with a strong showing at the High Point Bill Webb Combined Events/Bob Davidson Memorial Invitational.
Kara Mckenzie placed sixth in the 400-Meter Hurdles and secured a spot in the PSAC Outdoor Championship with a time of 1:07.84, while the 4x100-Meter Relay Team of
Mayah Charity,
Abbey-Gale Brooks, Mackenzie, and
Alex Walton come a way with a second-place finish at 49.78.
Pitt-Johnstown's
Brooke Leithner put together a strong showing in the Heptathlon, earning a fifth-place finish with a personal best 3.476 points. Leithner finished in the top-10 in six events, including second in the Shot Put (9.17M), Long Jump (5.03M), and Javelin (27.60M).
Walton also placed 20th in the 400-Meter Run, (1:02.60), and
Jenna Smith finished 21st with a personal best 5:03.19 in the 1,500-Meter Run, and 32nd in the 800-Meter Run with another personal best of 2:30.23.
In addition, Charity and Brooks placed in both the 100 and 200-meter dash. With a 2.5 and 2.4 wind Charity (12.62) and Brooks (12.75) placed 11th and 16th, respectively in the 100. In the 200,with a -1.1 wind, Charity finished 23rd at 26.66 and Brooks was 24th at 26.70.
