
Julia Mooney had an RBI and was one of four Mountain Cats to collect two hits, but Bemidji State (Minn.) used a run in the fifth inning to edge Pitt-Johnstown, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla. The Mountain Cats are 1-1.

Bemidji State took the lead with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth, before Mooney's single to left chased home
Hannah Gnibus to tie it at two.
However, the Beavers regained the lead in the fifth and went on to hold off the Mountain Cats.
Along with Mooney, Fox and Gnibus were each 2-for-3 with a run, and
Audrey Paterson added two hits. Miehl doubled, Santiago singled and drove in one, and
Sydney Mitchell had a hit.

Mia Smith pitched a complete game for the Mountain Cats but suffered the loss. Smith allowed three runs on eight hits, while striking out five and walking two.
The Mountain Cats will continue their Spring Trip to Florida with games against West Virginia Wesleyan Monday at 10 a.m. and College of Saint Rose (NY) on Monday at 12:30 p.m. After days off of Tuesday and Wednesday will Johnstown will take on Mercy (NY) and Southwest Minnesota State on Thursday.
