Jenna Smith finished first in the 1,500-Meter Run, while Brooke Leithner and Kate Yahner finished first in the Long Jump and Pole Vault, respectively, to lead a strong showing by the Pitt-Johnstown women's track and field team at Saturday's 2023 Indiana (PA) Invitational.

In the running events, Smith the the 1,500 with a time of 5:03.77, while Paige Greathouse was the runner-up in the 3,000-Meter Run at 11:35.61

Abbey-Gale Brooks qualified for the PSAC Championships and was the runner-up in the 100-Meter Dash with a personal best 12:58.  She also finished second in the 200-Meter Dash and qualifier for the PSACs at 25.89.

Teammate Mayah Charity was third in the 100 at 12.65 and fourth in the 200 with a PSAC-qualifying time of 26.05, while Kara McKenzie placed fourth in the 100 with a person best time of 12.71.

Three Mountain Cats also placed in the 400-Meter Hurdles, led by McKenzie's third-place finish at 1:05.57.  Her personal record in the event was fifth of the PSAC Performance List and second-all-time at Pitt-Johnstown.  Greathouse finished sixth in her debut at 1:13.74, and Nicole Smiley was seventh at 1:15.65.

Alex Walton was fifth in the 400-Meter Run with a personal best time of 1:01.55.

In the field events, Yahner won the the Pole Vault and qualified for the PSAC Championships at 3.20 Meters, and leithner won the Long Jump (5.08 Meters) and was the runner-up in the Javelin with a personal best at 34.53.  That throw ranked 16th on the PSAC Performance List.

In addition, Natalie Lippincott placed fourth and qualified for the PSACs in the High Jump with a personal best 1.55, and Kiersten Ulmer placed seventh in the Discus with personal best throw of 18.01 Meters.
