

The Pitt-Johnstown women's track and field team came away with a pair of new school records from Friday and Saturday's West Virginia University Mountaineer Showcase. On Friday,
Kara McKenzie set the Mountain Cat record in the 400-meter hurdles, and on Saturday, Kaye Yahner broke Pitt-Johnstown's pole vault record.
McKenzie's school-record time of 1:04.32 in the 400-meter hurdles earned her a fourth-place finish and qualified her as the third best time for the upcoming PSAC Outdoor Championships. Yahner joined McKenzie in setting a Pitt-Johnstown record with her championship winning vault of 3.66 meters. That vault also qualifed for her for the PSAC Championship is is the third best pole vault result in the PSAC.
Along with McKenzie's efforts on Friday,
Ava Barker placed eighth and posted Pitt-Johnstown's sixth-best time in the 800-meter run with a person best time of 2:28.26, while
Jenna Smith's third-best Pitt-Johnstown time of 4:55.81 in the 1500-Meter Run was her personal best and qualified her for the PSACs.
On Saturday,
Mayah Charity was third in the 100-meter dash (12.88),
Abbey-Gale Brooks placed fifth in the 200-meter dash,
Alex Walton was third in the 400-meter run (1.01.01), and
Gwyn Keith placed seventh with a personal best 26.19 meters in the Javelin.
Pitt-Johnstown's 4x400-meter relay team of Charity, Walton, Brooks, and McKenzie also came away with a runner-up finish with a time of 4:14.62.
