The Pitt-Johnstown men's golf program has announced the addition of Eli Ropietski (Harvey's Lake, PA) to its 2023 Signing Class.
 
"We are extremely excited to welcome Eli to the program. He is exceptionally hard-working and possesses a great dedication to the game." said golf coach Cody Trabert. "Eli has made great strides in golf in such a short amount of time. I am very optimistic that as he gains more experience combined with his work ethic, he will continue to see the existing pattern of success continue. We are also impressed that Eli is as talented in the classroom (maintaining a 4.0 cumulative GPA) as he is on the course. His commitment to his education will allow him great achievements as a student-athlete enrolled into the highly esteemed engineering program."
 
Ropietski joins a Pitt-Johnstown men's golf program that has made great strides in the previous two years of competition in the PSAC.  In the 2021-2022 season, the program set many new program records, including a program best 306.40 team scoring average while participating in eight invitationals, PSAC Conference Championships and NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championships.  The Mountain Cats posted their lowest team score in program history at the PSAC Championships in Fall 2021 with a 284 (Even Par) in Round 1 and the best three round score of 891. The Mountain Cats continued their success in the 2022-2023 season by averaging 308.80 as a team. A new tournament record low in program history was set at the West Liberty Oglebay Invitational with a team score of 888. The team is looking to continue to build on their momentum in the Fall 2023 season.
