Gannon punched in four first-half goals, which were enough to carry the day in a 6-0 victory over the Mountain Cats on Monday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 0-3-1 in the early going this season.
In a game that was pushed back from Saturday because of rain, the Golden Knights wasted little time getting on the board. Just four minutes in, Grace Emanuel scored off an assist from Hannah Shepard.
Fourteen minutes later, Brooklyn Respecki found the back of the net for the first of her two goals to make it 2-0. In the 31st minute, Sam Dales beat Pitt-Johnstown goalkeeper Megan Giesey for a 3-0 lead.
Amelya Bretz scored nearly four minutes later thanks to an assist from Gretchen Oslick. The Golden Knights added two goals in the second half to cap the scoring.
Haley Neidig had two shots and Megan Dietz recorded the lone shot on goal for Pitt-Johnstown.Â
The Mountain Cats face a quick turnaround with a visit to Indiana (PA) set for Wednesday at 4 p.m.
