Seton Hill built a 2-0 halftime advantage and added a goal a goal midway through the second half to secure a 3-0 PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats slipped to 0-5-1 overall and 0-4-0 in conference-play.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the 36
th minute when Samantha Hallo finished Victoria Rothrauff's assist, before Elizabeth Adams set up Emma Rain for a goal at 41:00 that made it 2-0.
Jessica Molitoris found the back of the net 27 minutes into the second half that gave Seton Hill an insurance goal and set the final at 3-0.
Megan Giesey took the loss in goal for Pitt-Johnstown after allowing all three goals. Giesey faced 21 shots from the Griffins and made seven saves.
A pair of goalkeepers combined for the shutout for Seton Hill. Lindsey Pazdziorko got the start and made one save over the first 78 minutes, and Sydney Caldwell played the final 13 minutes and also made one save.
The Griffins improved to 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the PSAC West.
The Mountain Cats visit California (PA) for a PSAC match on Wednesday, before returning home to host a conference match against Edinboro on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
