Pitt-Johnstown kept Mercyhurst down for a majority of the first 45 minutes, but a pair of goals in each half doomed the Mountain Cats in a 4-0 setback on Saturday afternoon.
Megan Giesey handled all 90 minutes in net and recorded eight saves for the Mountain Cats, who fell to 1-6-2 overall (1-5-1 PSAC).
Corinne Morgan broke the ice for the Lakers, who improved to 8-1 overall (7-0 PSAC), early in the 29th minute to make it 1-0. Shortly after in the 36th minute, Morgan assisted teammate Paulina Harr on another score that provided Mercyhurst with a 2-0 advantage.
Just 1:40 into the final half, the Lakers extended their lead to 3-0 on Emily Neenan's first tally of the season. Rebecka Habursky registered an unassisted goal in the 72nd minute to cap the scoring.
Haley Neidig totaled two shots, with one of them being on goal.
Pitt-Johnstown hosts Clarion on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
