
Cassidy Crawford collected game-highs of 22 points and eight rebounds, and
Olivia Fasick added 21 points, including six 3-pointers, to lift Pitt-Johnstown to an 80-65 PSAC Western Division victory at Edinboro, Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Cats raised their overall record to 11-4 and improved to 6-3 in the PSAC.
Pitt-Johnstown's balanced attack also saw
Camille Dominick score a career-high 10 points off the bench, while
Peyton Alazaus had nine points and seven boards, and
Hayden Taylor tallied nine points and six rebounds.
Kylah Franklin chipped-in six points and seven rebounds.
The Mountain Cats got off to a fast start and used a pair of free-throws from Franklin and a conventional 3-point play from Crawford to cap a 10-2 run and jump out to a 12-6 lead midway through the opening quarter. Edinboro cut it to one just under three minutes later on an Ashten Boggs jumper, but Pitt-Johnstown got a layup from Dominick and two free-throws from Alazaus with :25 left to go in front 20-13.

Three-pointers from Dominick and Fasick to begin the second quarter kept the momentum with Pitt-Johnstown and increased the lead to 26-13. The Mountain Cats maintained the 13-point advantage at the 5:28 mark and never let the Fighting Scots get closer than seven, before Crawford's layup and free-throw gave Pitt-Johnstown a 36-26 lead at the break.
The Mountain Cats continued their steady play and shot 54% in the third quarter to outscore Edinboro by seven and build the lead to 56-39. Fasick's fourth 3-pointer of the day with 3:44 remaining in the quarter made it a 14-point lead, and
Riley Childress's 3-pointer at 1:48 pushed it out to 19.
The Fighting Scots scored the first four points of the final quarter to narrow the gap to 13, but Pitt-Johnstown had an answer for each Edinboro bucket. Fasick hit her sixth 3-pointer at the 3:59 mark to rebuild the lead to 16, and Crawford and Taylor combined to go 6-6 from the line down the stretch to lock down the 15-point victory.
Pitt-Johnstown, which outrebounded Edinboro, 38-28, shot 46.3 % (25-54) from the floor, knocked down 10 3-pointers, and connected on 20-23 from the line. The Fighting Scots were held to just 39.3% (22-56) shooting, including just 3-16 from behind the arc. Edinboro was 18-20 from the free-throw line.
Morgan Gentile's 17 points, and Hayley Sims' 14 points and six rebounds paced the Fighting Scots, now 8-6 overall and tied with the Mountain Cats in the PSAC West standings at 6-3.
Pitt-Johnstown will host PSAC Western Division doubleheaders in the Sports Center with the men's team against Indiana (PA) on Wednesday starting at 5:30 p.m. and Slippery Rock on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
