Mountain Cats tamed by No. 7 Gannon

Johnstown, Pa.

Pitt-Johnstown never found enough rhythm to punch back in a 5-0 setback to No. 7 Gannon on Saturday afternoon at Richland High School.

The Mountain Cats dropped to 4-4-2 overall and 2-4-2 in the PSAC West with just six matches remaining in the regular season.

Grace Emanuel notched two goals, both in the first half, to give the Golden Knights a 2-0 advantage at the halfway point. Her first goal came in the 15th minute off an assist from Gabby Boden. Later in the 34th minute, she found the back of the net off Brooklyn Respecki's assist.

Pitt-Johnstown was limited to just one shot on goal courtesy of Kristen Horgan. Gannon, meanwhile, had 12 shots on goal. Emma Morin spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Mountain Cats and made seven saves.

The Golden Knights padded their lead with two goals that came roughly three minutes apart in the second half. Respecki scored in the 62nd minute and Jessie Watkins added a tally in the 65th minute. Respecki capped the scoring in the final minute with her second goal.

Gannon remained undefeated and moved to 7-0-3 overall (5-0-3 PSAC West).

Pitt-Johnstown will visit Slippery Rock on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
