
Lock Haven jumped out to a two-goal first half advantage and went on to a 3-0 PSAC Western Division victory over the Pitt-Johnstown men's soccer team, Wednesday afternoon at Windber Stadium. The Mountain Cats slipped to 3-9-1 overall and 0-5-1 in conference-play.
The Bald Eagles opened the scoring on a Kade Black goal 17 minutes into the match, before Matt Laudenslager's header off of a Connor Swope corner kick found the back of the net behind Mountain Cat goalkeeper
PJ Derksen in the 30
th minute to make it 2-0 at the break.
Pitt-Johnstown tried to get back in it and got off seven of its nine shots in the second half, including two from
Oscar Trilles Monferrer, but could not beat Lock Haven goalkeeper Ethan Beck.
Lock Haven added an insurance goal with under 12 minutes remaining to set the final at 3-0.
Derksen saw 25 shots from the Bald Eagles, made six saves, and surrendered all three goals, while Beck was forced to make a pair of saves for Lock Haven.
The Bald Eagles improved to 8-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in the PSAC West.
The Mountain Cats visit Slippery Rock for a conference match on Saturday, before hosting a PSAC West match against California (PA) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Windber Stadium.
