Women’s Soccer to Recognize Seniors Prior to Saturday’s PSAC Match Against Edinboro

The Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team will celebrate Senior Day and recognize eight seniors prior to Saturday's key PSAC Western Division match against Edinboro.  Kick-off is scheduled for noon at Richland High School.
 
Head Coach Aideen O'Donoghue and the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer program will honor seniors…Maura Carey, Judith Gaelle Dule, Abby Jackson, Sophia Lamesta, Haley Neidig, Lydia Roman, Katelyn Rudy, and Mackenzie Stephens.
 
The Mountain Cats, in a battle with Edinboro for the fourth spot in the PSAC West and a berth in the conference tournament, enter the match at 6-5-2 overall and 4-5-2 in conference-play following Wednesday's, 3-2, loss at No. 24 at IUP.  Rudy and Nicole Hawk scored the Pitt-Johnstown goals.
 
Edinboro, under 29th-year Head Coach Gary Kagiavas, regained the fourth spot in the PSAC West and comes in at 5-4-3 overall and 5-4-1 in conference-play after Wednesday's, 1-0, victory over Clarion.  Virginia Zabala's goal early in the second half propelled the Fighting Scots.
 
In the last meeting on Sept. 28, the Fighting Scots ended a stretch of four consecutive draws between the two teams with a 7-0 victory in Edinboro.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a conference match at California (PA) on Nov. 6, before hosting its 2024 regular season finale against Clarion on Nov. 9.
