The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will finish the 2024 regular season with PSAC West Matches against Indiana (PA) and Clarion, this weekend in the Sports Center. Friday's match against the Crimson Hawks will tip-off at 6 p.m. and Saturday's match against the Golden Eagles is scheduled for noon.
Coach Justin Haupt's Pitt-Johnstown squad, ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region, 18-8 overall and 5-7 in the PSAC West after sweeping California (PA) last Friday and holding off Seton Hill in five sets last Saturday.
Lualis Alvarado and
Ellie Zuro each had 11 kills against the Vulcans, before adding 17 and 16 kills, respectively against the Griffins.
Indiana (PA), ranked fourth in the region under second-year
Head Coach Lorelle Hoyer, has won five straight matches and is 19-8 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC West after Tuesday's five-set win over Clarion.
Jessica Neiman had 18 kills and
Lauren Valentic added 10 kills.
On Oct. 15, Pitt-Johnstown and IUP met in Indiana and the Crimson Hawks earned a five-set victory.
Alvarado had 22 kills and
Zuro added 11 kills for the Mountain Cats.
Valentic's 12 kills and
Neiman's 11 kills led IUP.
Clarion, ranked third in the region under 18

Coach Jennifer Herron, is 15-9 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC West following Tuesday's five-set loss at Indiana (PA).
Cassidy Snider had a match-high 23 kills for the Golden Eagles.
On Oct. 19, the Golden Eagles held off the Mountain Cats in five sets in Clarion.
Natalie Lippincott had 14 kills and
Alvarado added 13 kills to lead four Pitt-Johnstown players who had double-digit kills. Clarion was led by
Snider's match-high 23 kills and
Raegan Stader's 22 kills.
Pitt-Johnstown will wait to see if it earns a spot in Tuesday's PSAC Tournament Quarterfinals. NCAA Regional Tournament bids will be released on Nov. 25. The Top-8 teams in the Atlantic Region will earn a spot in the tournament.
