

The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's track and field teams opened the 2024-25 indoor season on Friday with a strong performance in the Division I dominated Youngstown State (OH) University Icebreaker Meet at the Watson and Tressel Training Site in Youngstown, Ohio.

On the men's side,
Noah Serr and
Jacob Mann placed fourth (1.96m) and 17
th (1.76m) in the High Jump, while
Hunter Johnson finished 13
th (6.59m) and
Ryan Porch placed 19
th (6.44m) in the Long Jump.Â
Isaiah Dyer placed 15
th in the Triple Jump at 12.79m.

Michael Ifidon was the runner-up ion his 200-Meter Dash heat and 10
th 0verall at 22.28.

In the 400-Meter Run,
Cristian Thornton placed 15
th at 50:03, while
Michael Ifidon was 11
th in the preliminaries of the 60-Meter Dash at 6.98. In addition, Nicholas Legnine was seventh and
Hunter Johnson 
was ninth in the 60-meter qualifiers. Johnson went finished 15
th in the 60-meter preliminaries.

On the women's side, Pitt-Johnstown's
Mayah Charity placed 27
th in a field of 51 runners in the 200-Meter dash at 9.54. Charity was also 12
th in the 60-meter qualifier, and
Kara McKenzie was 12
th in the 60-Meter Hurdles Preliminaries.

Kaela Grant,
Izzy Portello, Anna Stewart,
Kiersten Ulmer, and Carly Weimer represented the Mountain Cats in various events.

Pitt-Johnstown will continue its indoor scheduled at the Youngstown State Invitational on Jan. 17 and at the Muskingum Muskie Meet in Concord, Ohio on Jan. 25.
