After suffering a 14-2 loss in game one of the 2024 season-opener at Concord (WV), Pitt-Johnstown jumped out to an 11-0 third-inning lead and used a pair of homeruns from
Calvin Iseminger in the nightcap to secure a 15-10 win in a game that was completed on Monday after being suspended due to darkness.

In game one,
Josh Ulery belted a one-out solo homer and
Garrett Prosper doubled home
Justin Turcovski to give Pitt-Johnstown a 2-0 lead to start, but Concord used back-to-back RBI doubles off of Mountain Cat junior right-hander
Rodney Shultz in the bottom of the first to quickly tie it.

The Mountain Lions scored an unearned run in the bottom of the third to take their first lead, before Concord took advantage of three Pitt-Johnstown errors to add 10 more runs and build a 13-2 advantage after four innings.

MJ Hunter's infield single chased home another run in the bottom of the sixth to set the final at 14-2.

Shultz suffered the loss after going the first 3.1 innings and allowing seven runs (2 earned) on four hits, while striking out eight and walking three.  The Mountain Cats used four pitchers in the opener, including
Zach Myers, who limited Concord to just one run on two hits over the final two innings.  Myers also fanned four and didn't allow a walk.

Along with Ulery's solo homer, Prosper singled and had an RBI double, and
Joey Maun and
Josh Reynolds each had base hits for Pitt-Johnstown.

Andrew Neff picked-up the win for Concord.  Neff held the Mountain Cats scoreless on three hits over the last six innings in relief of starter Nick Sanso.

In game two, the Mountain Cats got off to a fast start and loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first.  Prosper delivered a two-run single that plated
Brody Roberts and
Aidan Steinbugl, and Iseminger connected for a 3-run homer down the left field line that gave Pitt-Johnstown a 5-0 lead and knocked out Concord starter Connor Brizendine.

Ulery's two-run double to left-center in the second and four more runs in the third, highlighted by Roberts' two-out, two-run triple, extended it to 11-0.

Concord countered with six in the bottom of the third, including Chris Satcher's grand slam, but Iseminger's second homer of the day in the fourth inning got two of those runs back and one more in the fifth made it 14-6.

Three more runs from the Mountain Lions in the bottom of the fifth narrowed it to 14-9 when the game was suspended due to darkness.

After resuming on Monday, the teams exchanged runs in the sixth, but
Erik Rhodes was able to strikeout two in a perfect seventh inning to close it out.

Along with Iseminger's two homers, Ulery went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a triple, and three RBI, and Prosper added three hits and three RBI.  The Mountain Cats also got three hits and two RBI from Roberts, two hits and an RBI from Steinbugl, and two hits from
Alex Ebeling.

Austin Hammerle earned the win in relief of starter
Ben Tomb.  Hammerle pitched 1.2 innings, allowed three runs on four hits and struck out three.  Tomb tossed the first 3.1 innings and gave up six runs on four hits while striking out six and walking two.

Pitt-Johnstown will conclude the series at Concord with a 9-inning game on Monday, before playing a three-games non-conference series at Shippensburg on Friday and Saturday.
