Pitt-Johnstown went down early and never recovered in a 17-1 setback to No. 8 Indianapolis in the first of two games on Monday.
Freshmen hurlers Mahlon Yonkin, who suffered the loss, and Addison Hilligsberg handled the pitching responsibilities for the Mountain Cats, who dropped to 0-5 on the year. The Greyhounds have won eight in a row and improved to 17-2.
Indianapolis struck first with three runs in the first to set the tone. Julia Mooney homered to straight away center field in the bottom of the inning to put the Mountain Cats on the board and cut it to 3-1.
But the Greyhounds padded their lead with four runs in the second and brought the game to an early end when it posted seven runs in the top of the fifth.
Kayla Miehl had the other hit and drew a walk for the Mountain Cats.
