Pitt-Johnstown junior right-hander
Rodney Shultz was selected the PSAC Western Division Co-Pitcher of the Week with Mercyhurst's Ryan Rafalski after tossing a no-hitter in Saturday's four-game series opener against the Lakers in Erie.
Rafalski answered with a no-hitter of his own in the nightcap to mark just the sixth time in NCAA Division II history that a pair of no-hitters were thrown in the same doubleheader.
Shultz held the Lakers without a hit on just 90 pitches in the Mountain Cats' 1-0 series opening victory. Shultz fanned eight, walked just one, and faced one batter over the minimum.
Rafalski needed 94 pitches to get his no-hitter in Mercyhurst's 4-0 win in game two. Rafalski struck out two and walked six.
