Tristan Ralph's assist 18 minutes later to knot it at one at the break.
The Lightning came out and scored a pair of goals six minutes apart early in the second half to climb out to a 3-1 lead. Goldey-Beacom went back on top in the 56
th minute when Ugun Unal took a pass from Lucas Fernandes and beat Mountain Cat goalkeeper
PJ Derksen, before Kel Ordonez scored off of an assist from Unal in the 62
nd minute to make it a two-goal match.
The Lightning tacked on an insurance goal with six minutes to play to set the final at 4-1.
Derksen faced 20 shots form Goldey-Beacom, made five saves, and allowed all four goals, while Lightning goalkeeper Pedro Montanes saw seven shots from the Mountain Cats, made a pair of saves, and surrendered one goal.
With the win, the Lightning improved to 1-3-0 on the season.
The Mountain Cats return home to host a pair of non-conference matches. Pitt-Johnstown will host Penn State-Greater Allegheny on Tuesday at 4 p.m. and D'Youville (NY) on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Both matches will be played at Windber Stadium.
