Pitt-Johnstown posted three goals within the first 14 minutes and never looked back on its way to a dominant 8-0 rout of Penn State Greater Allegheny on Tuesday evening.
Five different players tallied at least one goal to help the Mountain Cats even their non-conference record at 2-2. Jack Moyer, Oscar Trilles Monferrer and Holger Lozano all notched a pair of goals.
Moyer opened up the scoring in the fourth minute with an unassisted tally and then made it 2-0 less than three minutes later thanks to an assist from Josh Sollars. Monferrer pushed it to 3-0 in the 14th minute with a penalty kick. He then assisted Lozano's first goal in the 39th minute as the Mountain Cats took a 4-0 lead into halftime.
Monferrer and Lozano each scored unassisted goals within the first 16 minutes of the second half kicking off. Blake Emge and Ryan Kyei Boahen tacked on goals 16 seconds apart in the 70th minute to set the final.
The Mountain Cats racked up 49 total shots, with 26 of those on goal. On the defensive end, Jacob Tichnell, PJ Derksen and Lukas Christian combined for the shutout in goal.
Pitt-Johnstown will host D'Youville (NY) University on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Windber Stadium.
